In Mie Prefecture, there are many groups that are working to revitalize the region, as well as restaurants and shops that are loved by the locals.
At MieL, we would like to support groups and people who are active in Mie Prefecture and lead to the revitalization of the region!
Among the groups active in Mie Prefecture, this time we will introduce one that is passing down traditional Japanese arts to children.Japanese drum team "Hibikiza Inase-gumi"The following is a list of the most common problems with the
Hibikiza Inase group"To beat the drum is to beat the heart"A local Japanese drum team that celebrates its 19th anniversary this year.
I would like to tell you about the efforts of Hibikiza Inase-gumi, which is active in Matsusaka City, and the appeal of Japanese drums.
The Charm of Wadaiko, a Japanese Traditional Performing Arts
Suddenly, everyone"Japanese drum"have you ever played
I think there are many people who have seen it at festivals and events, but have never played it.
Recently, Japanese drums have become a popular activity for children as a music class that combines sports elements.
There are five major attractions!
5 Charms of Wadaiko
- Acquire greeting habits and etiquette
- acquire a sense of rhythm
- Eliminate lack of exercise
- expressiveness and courage
- Improve communication skills
Wadaiko has so many charms, but the reality is that there are few schools and teams where you can learn it.
Hibikiza Inase group“There are people who don’t even know they exist, so I want to raise awareness of wadaiko and the team.”It seems that he is also focusing on SNS activities every day.
Hibikiza Inase-gumi is working to pass on the traditional Japanese performing art of Japanese drums to local children.
What is Hibikiza Inasegumi?
As I briefly touched on at the beginning,Inaigumi Kibyo Sequenceteeth,A taiko drumming team based in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture, that also performs outside the city and prefecture. It is.
In 1998, as a troupe that performs unique and creative performances using traditional Japanese drums."Sound seat"formed.
in 2003``Inase-gumi'' was also formed as part of Hibikiza's youth development. We also perform Japanese drums mainly at events and festivals in our local Matsusaka city.
Currently, about 20 people from elementary school students to adults are enrolled as "Hibikiza Inase Gumi".
We pass on the appeal and culture of Japanese drums, a traditional Japanese performing art, to the children who will be responsible for the future.
It seems that Hibikiza Inase-gumi has three things that they value in team activities.
We asked Hitomi Matsumoto, a first-generation member of Hibikiza Inase-gumi, for more details, so I'll introduce them in order.
1. Proper etiquette, greetings, and gratitude
―――What is the most important thing?
Matsumoto: Since joining the company, I have been thoroughly telling"Greetings and Courtesy"It is.
The practice of the team starts with a bow and ends with a bow,"good morning"As well as greetings such as"Thank you" "Please" "Thank you"We provide detailed guidance for each situation.
Also,I try to convey not only greetings but also etiquette. That's right.
for example"I don't pass in front of people" "If someone older than me is sitting, I sit down and talk" "I don't step on the threshold"Such.
I can live without knowing it, but I think that someday when I grow up, the habit will come in handy.
It's not that I don't have to know because I'm a child,I try to face each other as a personThat's right.
I would like to continue to focus on teaching etiquette for the sake of the children's future, and for the sake of inheriting the beautiful customs and culture of Japan.
2. Performance from the audience's point of view
―――Is there anything else you value other than greetings and courtesy?
Matsumoto: This is the most important thing when playing..."Knowing the customer's point of view"is communicated to the members.
Wadaiko can be performed by one person, but it can only be performed as music if there are people watching it.
I think it's the same with other musical instruments and art, but our team thinks that playing with the intention of conveying it to people is the most important thing. That's why I teach them not only to have fun, but also to make the customers feel like they're having fun too.
for example,Expressing the image of the song is also one of the things that stand out from the customer's point of viewIt is.
For example, the song "WAVE" is an image of a wave, while the song "Yabusame" expresses the sound of horses running.
It is very difficult to think about whether what I want to convey to the audience will be conveyed when they hear or see it, but I try to convey it many times in practice.
3. Deepen relationships between members
――Looking at the atmosphere of practice, it seems that you are on good terms. Is there anything you are conscious of?
Matsumoto: We value relationships between members, not leaders versus members.
Because we are a team with a wide range of age groups, we try to make time to teach each other and to talk casually so that we can interact with each other.
Once a year, at the end of December, a "Christmas Party" is held, where teams play various games.
This Christmas party is always lively, and many members become friends through this opportunity!
I feel that knowing a different side of the team has the effect of enhancing teamwork, and I believe that time outside of practice is also important for team development.
Also, it is important to face each member individually, and I am careful to develop each member's strengths.
Some children are at an age where they tend to become unstable, so there is a taiko practice area."Comfortable place, my own place"I would like to continue to cherish the creation of an environment that makes me think.
Hibikiza Inase-gumi is doing these activities!
Next, I would like to introduce what kind of activities Hibikiza Inase-gumi usually do, as well as their future plans!
It is basically a big festival in Matsusaka city.Appearing in the "Gion Festival", "Ujisato Festival", as well as the "Ring Sound Festival" and local summer and autumn festivalsThe company is doing so.
In autumn, more than 30 performances are held each year, such as elementary school cultural festivals, art appreciation festivals, and shrine Niiname festivals.
In addition to local events,Participating in festivals and festivals outside of the prefecture, and participating in junior competitions as a representative of Mie PrefectureWe are also doing
However, from 2020, due to the influence of the new coronavirus infection, the number of events and festivals has decreased, and the opportunities for presentations have decreased.
The motivation of the members has gone down, and they feel that the local community has lost some of their vitality.
The number of events has decreased due to the influence of corona... What are the new initiatives?
Is there anything you can do during this difficult time?
A project born from that idea, currently"Matsusaka City x Hibikiza Inase"We have devised and started a promotional video for!
A one-year project with shooting starting in 2022.
This video is also aimed at promoting tourism by combining a video of Hibikiza Inase-gumi performing at a sightseeing spot in Matsusaka City with the scenery of Matsusaka.
In April, we took pictures at the ruins of Matsuzaka Castle.
We want to spread the charm of the region with our own power! Also, I want you to know the charm of Japanese drums! With that in mind, I am shooting.
In addition, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary in 2023 next year."20th Anniversary Performance"will be held in Matsusaka City.
We are also focusing on making songs and practicing for the anniversary, and we are also looking for children who wish to become new members!
